endless missions

(very) few Reactive Drop missions do the Deep Rock Galactic style bonus objective where there's an extra thing you can do for bonus experience points or whatever

in the case of Nam Humanum's optional objective, you get an achievement the first time you do it plus some extra dialogue where a character is happy

I'm wondering if there's any way to make Warframe style "endless" missions work. Most people who play AS:RD regularly are not only at the experience cap but also the promotion cap, so experience points aren't really a reward at all

and there's not really any other form of "progression" in the game. but I feel like if I could figure out a reason for people to *do* them, a version of game modes like excavation, survival, disruption, defense, defection, or the three new ones could be fun additions to Alien Swarm: Reactive Drop

how do I incentivize players to stay in missions longer than is absolutely required in a game with no inventory or currencies?

that's what https://docs.playswap.org/open-beta/supported-games/ claims to do but I have no idea if the software even exists nor any desire to test it

and they definitely never contacted us to ask for permission

after stewing on this some more, the answer is just to make the objective happen a fixed number of times, like how excavation works in bounties, and if someone wants to play it more they can just replay the mission

lol what. browsing the docs it sounds like it might be relying on discord presence and a discord bot exclusively

good thing discord presence is impossible to falsify

e: my guess is that the "supported games" are games that have rich presence. good thing that's impossible to falsify
