updating a linux machine is so much nicer than updating a windows machine
I rebooted my windows machine today and it took 2 hours - that's not an exaggeration
I updated my linux machine while ranting about how much better linux is at software updates on a website hosted on the same machine
there was probably about 2 minutes of downtime total

Re: linux software update appreciation thread
sometimes i update my machine and reboot and it refuses to show a desktop because i forgot to run mkinitcpio, but i think nvidia is to blame for that
otherwise yeah it's pretty good OP
e: sometimes i envy that thing where windows updates can be downloaded off of other windows computers on the same network, because it excites the same part of my brain that gets excited about bittorrent or syncthing

Re: linux software update appreciation thread
i have a pacman caching proxy on my network (i use arch btw) and it is functionally the same once configured on each machine but it's not as exciting as the idea of machines just automatically finding each other and sharing updates with each other
i just want my computers to gossip
